"An industrial capitalist society that does not recognize ecological limits but only perpetual economic expansion and has the profit motive as driver, will eventually consume and destroy itself."

Yeah, I can't really suggest anything, but the last time someone asked me if I could help her with work I said that too and then a bunch of ideas came along. Maybe it'll happen again.
And you know, you could try temp work, too. It'll be a mixed bag, but it'll bring in some sort of cash on short notice.
Oh and call me when you get in town. You can find me through Google.

Well, ideally, I'd love to get back into publishing--books or magazines... I did it last summer and it was amazing (although sometimes tedious...) But mainly I need anything to pay the bills. So I'm looking office work...
I've got 4 years as event staff/stage manager (plus 4 years of HS experience, 2 of which I was the Technical director...) Misc. years of food service between movie theatre, JavaJunction and Cedar Point (where I was barcode certified)... Internship at Friends United Press & Quaker Life Magazine, Internship at GC PR.... 1 year in radio (DJ and Production Director)... professor's assistant for 2 years... taught in China... film work (including associate producer)...
But yeah, in order to live without food or internet (but with an apartment and cell phone) I need a minimum of $700 a month...
If I could get a day job and then a part time job waitressing, bartisa-ing, or bartending... that would be nice... and tiring.
As for jobs, I've never really had any job search for any job that didn't require a J.D., so I can't say much. What are you looking for generally? What experience do you have?

I just signed a lease with the Sovereign in Edgewater Glen.
I'm excited, and nervous. The job thing has yet to happen. Besides craigslist, indeed and the Chicago reader, where else is a good place to look?

Girlyman and the non-sexuality of women
Saw girlyman today on the westside. it was weird to not be sitting 8 feet away from them in the brew. At the same time, it was awesome to see them with such a huge audience. I went with my friend Joy who is also a longtime follower of them. Goshen was given a small shout-out in their closing song (which, of course, was followed by 3 encores). Another highlight: a reprise of "Thing Wild" from their last concert I saw in goshen.
On a completely different note (though could be somewhat related...):
According to a recent NY Times article, "Pas de Deux," Women might not have a sexual orientation, where as a man's orientation is determined before birth. Interesting.
Do you have to be a Schrock to post now? Fortunately, you don't have to be a Schrock to play the Grant Park Music Festival Game!

This guy was scary and also a bit of a pansy.
the guy in this, dmitri martins (from the daily show), is really funny
when you see the big lights go up and flare the lens, that's me with several 10,000 watt dimmers! also another one of those shoots with a visible fake crew
shooting in a real garage with many drunk teenagers. not cool. there is a reason why most things are shot in studios with actors. might be half of the reason why this one looks like shit.

what do linkin park, mc hammer, and weird al, all have in common
very little except that they were all at a disgustingly commercialized "music" festival called bamboozled. I got to dolly grip for bamoozle tv; very fun. water was $3.50 a bottle. what is this world* coming to?
