New Years Past

• 2000 - Plans with rest of friends bomb, so spend an actually decent evening with Rachel Hoover in downtown Lancaster watching the Red Rose drop. Later came home and made out on my parents' couch and watched bad movies.
  
• 2001 - Stuck at my grandparents' house in north-west Ohio, waiting for ride to Goshen after my family had returned to Lancaster. Watched a good British movie on PBS, then a science program about kelp. Went to bed around 11:30.
  
• 2002 - Agreed to work at 6am the next day, so convinced my parents to rent Red and went to bed after watching the ball drop.
  
• 2003 - Went to DC. Partied at the Black Cat with Schrocks, their friends, Celeste, Celeste's friend Emily. Good time, kick-ass band. Kissed Meg.
  
• 2004 - Couldn't get any info on where the People Tournament kickoff party is. Think it might be at Tim Godshall's parents' house near Mount Joy. No one is answering cell phones! #$&!! Mother suggests I just go see if it's there, so I do. It's not there. It's amazing how many people are out on the road at midnight on New Years, and how much better about your circumstances the right CD can make you feel, especially when it's your sister's and a clear sign that she's developing good taste. Katie, I called you but you weren't there and after I couldn't find Tim's I didn't feel like going to the New House. Sorry.
