Quote of the Week:

"An industrial capitalist society that does not recognize ecological limits but only perpetual economic expansion and has the profit motive as driver, will eventually consume and destroy itself."

"But we will all be taken down with it."

When Michaels Clash

So it turns out that Disney CEO Micheal Eisner, is trying to censor Michael Moore's new documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11. Something about losing their tax breaks from Jeb Bush.

Moore of course is lapping it up. "Should this be happening in a free and open society where the monied interests essentially call the shots regarding the information that the public is allowed to see?," says Moore.

Can't Eisner see he's writing Moore's next documentary for him? I can see it already: "Michael vs Michael: How Corporations Censor America" with Moore running all over Disney World with a camera crew trying to interview Mickey Mouse about corporate censorship.

Conservative have been hounding Disney for nearly a year now. Last May, conservatives threatened to boycott Disney for backing Moore's film. Best quote: "and I'd have to say that we will certainly think twice now about spending our hard-earned money at Disney, knowing that it might be used to support someone like Michael Moore. ... Disney has every right to fund Michael Moore, but we also have every right to take that into consideration when we choose how to spend our disposable income." You'd think Disney would be immune to boycott threats from the right by now, but apparently this one was effective.

For more conservative antics, see Organzing to Oppose Michael Moore's Film, ''Fahrenheit 9/11''
