Quote of the Week:

"An industrial capitalist society that does not recognize ecological limits but only perpetual economic expansion and has the profit motive as driver, will eventually consume and destroy itself."

"But we will all be taken down with it."

For those of you out there surfing this Saturday Night
Here's a collection of wierd links I've come across courtesy of StumbleUpon:
  • First, don't miss Mad TV's parody of the Presidential debates.
  • The Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory Service in Amarillo (Amarillo, Texas) recently received a submission of approximately 70,000 chocolate candies (total net mass 154 kilograms), suspected psilocybin mushroom/chocolate concoctions. A year earlier the The phenomenon of psilocybin mushroom/chocolate concoctions was discussed at length in June 2003 issue of Microgram Bulletin. How's that for fueling trick-or-treating urban legends and paranoia?
  • A page full of "anomalous motion illusions" that are almost as effective as a couple of pints.
  • If illusionary pints aren't enough for you, check out Rentapal.com. They always have a friend available to meet with you (either in-person, by phone or by email) for any kind of legal activity. This site actually turns out to be quite interesting. Two samples:
Noreen rented me a few months ago because she wanted to get some feedback on her new career choice. As an attractive, laid-off schoolteacher in a very bad economy, becoming a call-girl was the only viable option she could think of. She placed an ad in New York Magazine and set up a website with photos.

Carla is a 28 year old computer programmer who is gay and still 'in the closet'. Her parents came to New York to visit her for the holidays and she rented me to play her boyfriend.
I can't quite figure out if this one is real or not, but regardless it's got great stories.
  • If you decided not to take any of the above advice based on some sort of Christian ethical system, then the Crazy stuff from the bible is for you. Here's a sample:
We should fear God (Matthew 10:28)
We should love God (Matthew 22:37)
There is no fear in love (1 John 4:18)
  • If none of this really makes any sense, Are you living in a computer simulation? including a guide to how to live in a simulation.
  • And finally a cure for gayness.
